Paul G. Ruback
FDNY Ladder 25
Newburgh

Paul Ruback was dedicated to his six children and firefighting. He came from a long line of firefighters: several uncles and cousins served with New York's bravest. The day he became a firefighter was his proudest moment and no matter how exhausted he was after a day of work, he was never too tired for his children. Loved ones called the 6-feet-4-inch Ruback a "gentle giant." He is survived by his wife, Lynne, and his children – David, 18; Gina, 17; Shannon, 11; Paul, 2, and two stepchildren, Danny and Denyse. He was 50.
