Those we have lostLt. Peter Freund FDNY Engine 55 Westtown  Peter Freund contemplated leaving a life of firefighting in New York City to become a school teacher. In fact, the firefighter with an engine company in Little Italy was to start substitute teaching at Minisink Valley High School the same month he made the ultimate sacrafice. Freund loved children, especially his three children – Peter, 9; Julie, 11, and Dori, 12. He coached Little League in Minisink Valley and recently took up coaching youth football.
