James Romito

The first hijacked plane had slammed into the north tower of the World Trade Center when James Romito arrived on the scene. It wasn't the first time he had responded to help people after an attack at the World Trade Center. He participated in the rescue effort after terrorists attacked the towers in 1993. He is survived by his parents in the Bronx; his fiancee, Mary Pat Brew Sturdy, and her son, Bobby; and his daughter, Ellen. His sister, Laura Fasullo, lives in Pearl River. His brother, Anthony, lives in Monroe. He was 51.
