Those we have lostGary Geidel FDNY Rescue 1 New York City  Geidel, 44, was one of 11 firefighters assigned to Manhatten's elite Rescue 1 who charged into the burning towers and died while saving others. He is survived by his wife Tillie and his daughter, Mathida; his mother. He lived on Staten Island but was in the process of moving to Pine Island, where his mother Pat Geidel lives. His brother Mike, also a NYC firefighter, also lives in Pine Island as does a sister.
