Carmen Rivera stayed behind on the 78th floor of the second tower of the World Trade Center to help strangers struggling to escape. By all accounts, coworkers say she had plenty of time to get out. Instead, she chose to comfort. Rivera was a mother of three children and a wife of 15 years to Luis. She was 33.
